AMR CD-777
« on: 10 Jun 2018, 10:15 pm »
Even though this product is several years old, how would it do as a CD player and as a standalone DAC vs. comparably priced DACS/CD players today? I find it useful that it’s not only a tube CD player but also has a USB input for computer streaming. Would the ifi USB Micro 3.0 be helpful to reduce jitter under the assumption that it is more state of the art vs. the USB input used in the CD-777?

Thanks.

Anyone? I posted a message to AMR as well but haven't heard back. Thanks!

it's worth trying out.  I personally don't know the tech specifics other than a lot of iFi goodies came from the AMR side.

USB 3.0 wasn't around when the CD-777 was produced however I do know the team didn't cut any corners developing that unit.  I am not sure what could be gained or not.

I don't have any comment on manufacturers products.  I have never put the CD-777 side-by-side because I don't have one
