REF20 repair?
« on: 19 Jun 2021, 07:55 pm »
I have a REF20 with a bad amp board.
Does any in this forum have any experience in this Class D?
I've replaced the two blown MOSFET's and the switching chip HIP4081AIPZ, only to lose the 5v regulator and short out the amp.
The four switching MOSFET's and chip are still good. Something in the front of the amp board where it regulates a 12v and where the five volt resides let go.
I'm hesitant to go any further as the board is a total pain to work.

I think you might be better off buying a new amp board directly from store1.nuoem.com

Thanks for the link.
Forgive me in not reviewing past posts.
I'll spend more time tonight researching
It looks like pickings are slim.

It is approaching 9 years since Ref 20 was released and we plan to stop providing amp boards for service when the current stocks run out.
Perhaps you can mail the board to the factory for repair, the repair cost is cheaper than a new board, but no guarantee that it can be repaired. It could take 2 weeks to turn around (excluding shipping time).
