« on: 17 Sep 2006, 08:47 pm »
Looking to match some speakers for a new Cary CAD 300SEI amp. Small listening room, 8X15 ft, a very acoustically alive. Most soft rock, jazz and classical. Looking at 3 V2's and 3XRS ??? Any suggestion would be appreciated...THANKS  Paul

Rogers LS3/5A (15 ohm) version and the Cary 300SEI are a match made in heaven! If you cannot find a used Rogers, I believe Stirling Broadcast produce an 11 ohm version which I heard paired with the Carys - the magical midrange is what both excel! Just my 0.2 cents' worth!

"Rogers LS3/5A (15 ohm) version"

I have looked for these (Rogers)in the past on Audiogon, but not sure with Cary's 11 watt output and 4 and 8ohm impedance, that this would be a good match. "Rogers" do have a great reputation, thanks for the suggestion...Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your post.

The XRS would be the best out of the Super 3s and I did get best sound at show in my category with Cary 300Bsei and the Superhemps at the Athens show. They were also running V12s.

Great amplifier and know very well.

Thanks again,
Louis
