Turntable mats

Currently auditioning this Teac "paper" mat on my Amadeus. I also have the basic A23 mat for comparison. The Teac mat is about half the thickness of the A23 or roughly 1mm as opposed to the A23 at 2mm. So most won't have to fiddle with VTA to do a comparision if used over your present mat. Yes, I believe it can be used "solo" or just placed over your current mat.  My friend says it looks very similar to the $349 Stein Music mat ....which is also derived from a Japanese paper of some ilk. If it is similar, $30 sounds a whole lot better than $349.

Yep, that's the one. Yeah, my first attempt to post a link led to something over a paragraph long. When I condensed it, I guess it ended up being more of a "hint" than a  link  Thx

That mat seems interesting. I have a Herbies on mine. It is so thick that the record clamp is hard to thread on the spindle. It is soft and rubbery and I always fear that it is just a dust magnet. Time to try no mat. Found that my alignment is off so may as well reset the SRA while I'm at it.

The SRA adjustment would be virtually the same with no mat or the Teac mat. The Teac mat is less than 1 mm in thickness. Very easy at that point  to AB both without worrying about SRA. My money would be on the Teac mat, but of course, that's just a guess.
