Hi Gang:
    Got all the cabinets done, loaded, and tested for a 7 speaker Home theater.

   Sub woofer to start yet.

Those look great - how long did they take to build all of them?

Sub going to be in the same finish?

Hi Chip:
    About 3 weeks, I'm retired, so it was almost full time. have just the basic tools though (no table saw).
    Yes the powered sub will be the same, in fact from the same sheet of oak.
A total of 3) 5' X 5', 3/4"  Baltic birch and 3) 4' X 8' MDF core 1/4" red oak plywood were used, plus a half (4' X 4') sheet of 1/2" MDF.
    The wood was $215, so this is not a cheap project.
    Turned out nicely though, the owner is happy.

Well very nice work. I have two GR sub/prs that I have been using since Oct/Nov 2005 but still need to finish them. I have not decided if I will paint or veneer them.

Really nice work for a guy that does not have a table saw.  They look good...............now how do they sound????

Have yet to move them inside to try with my electronics. The owner wants them badly, so listening will be limited here.

I notice that there is a black line on the av-3's between the cabinet and the base. What is that?

I stapled a "welt" between the base and cabinet to disguise the less than perfect fit there. A "welt" is a vinal (or leather) bead used in upholstery.

I didn't use veneer, used 1/4" oak plywood. It hids sins in the basic Baltic birch much better.
