Remember that what is really impressive about that girl is how articulate and knowledgeable she is. Over the decades of judging, I saw too many projects that were great projects, but upon questioning, the kids didn't know their stuff. We usually assumed that Mom or Dad had been the primary mover behind the project. When my daughter won a regional fair many years back, it was probably because she understood the atomic nature of polar chemical bonds that allowed her to extract caffeine for her 8th grade project. (It helped that her Dad was a chemistry teacher and spent several hours explaining it to her).
