Looks interesting. I am and have been on the look out for different design approaches to turntables. I think this one looks promising....among many.

Sure does look interesting, I like the decoupled arm board. Price is 6500 euros for the Unico model and that is in heated competition territory.

Best,
Anand.

Sorry if I hijacked the thread but I would love to give this
Kuzma Stabi-S a spin. I love the minimalist look it has… not cheap though.

Kuzma Stabi S 3600 clams

http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/78164/Kuzma-Stabi_S_Turntable-Turntables

I do believe that price is for the combo:  Stabi S + Stogi S arm.  Not just the table alone.
Table alone is about 2100, arm is about 1500.

These sources show the combo priced at about 3.5k

http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/kuzma/kuzma.html
(8 yr old review showing $2750 total)

http://www.hifiplus.com/articles/kuzma-stabi-s-turntable-and-stogi-s-tonearm/
(6 yr old review showing $3300 total)

I owned this excellent setup several years go.   Easy to setup, non - kludgy, simple but effective no-nonsence design.  Quiet w black backgrounds, deep stage, can be explosive,  immersive and musical listening experience.  At times, sorry I sold it.

Kuzma is top quality gear (I also owned the Stogi Reference arm) but due to lack of name recognition here in US, this "s" setup can be had for about $1600 to 1800 used.

Yes, $3600 was the total price. I’m sorry you had to sell yours, that had to be tough.
I don’t think I would have been able to do it. Had I still been living in Queens NY and
saw your ad, I would have been going east on the Belt Parkway at a rapid rate of speed.

Brooklyn

I never heard of Anvil Turntables.  Thanks poseidonsvoice for the info.  Anvil is a winner, impressive review by Michael Fremer and Karlos5000.
Read the links.

Hi everyone.  I do not engage in much advertising, so it is always nice to see discussions of my turntable, and I appreciate the kind words.  My table can outperform many 10K+ designs, and I would be happy to discuss this.  Of course I offer "bundles", and a few upgrades ( new very sophisticated controller "infinitely" adjusts frequency, voltage and phase virtually eliminating noise and cogging ), and the new motor pod, footers, pulley are a real benefit.  A new armboard  allows for infinitely adjustable spindle to pivot distance.  Thanks again for the interest.

Bruce

Does the new controller work on other turntables, or is it Anvil specific?

Will you be at RMAF 2014?

Anvil Turntables Bruce McDougall,

Welcome to the AudioCircle community.  What are you using for speakers, amps, preamps,CD player, phono stage, and cartridge?
Your website needs to be updated with new pictures of your improved Anvil.  Please post the Michael Fremer and Karlos5000 reviews and lastly a very detailed background report about your interest and passion in turntables on your website.

What I like about the Anvil.  25# cast alloy platter.  25# cast iron plinth.

I hope to see you post often here.

The new controller can be used with many turntables.  Generally, turntables that use the popular Premotec motors, or similar are compatible. It simply requires hardwiring to the motors leads.  I will not be at RMAF, however I am planning on Axpona 2015.  Yes, the website does not reflect the range of possibilities with the turntable.  There are many options available including dozens of colors.  I will post a few pics soon of a current build with most of the bells and whistles.

Regards,

Bruce

I looked at the new Anvil website.
With so many turntable platforms in the market place, please inform us about your custom cast iron platform?
Please elaborate on your upgrade AT-1motor controller?

Hi everyone.  Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.  If anyone needs to contact me or needs info asap, please pm me.  I will have pictures and specs on the new controller very soon.  Three have been built, and they are in production.  The controller has the ability to fine tune voltage ( 60-120 v), phase ("infinite"), and frequency.  The net result of this flexibility is a virtual elimination of vibration from typical 3w motors as are used in Linns,Regas,Systemdecks, etc.  Cogging is virtually eliminated with the effect of a noticeable improvement in  clarity and focus.  My table, for example (because of its low friction bearing ), can run at 60 volts, and sounds best at that setting.  The belt still needs to be manually changed for 33.3 and 45 rpm, as using just one pulley for both typically compromises performance ( getting around this adds A LOT to the price ).  Still tweaking the price, but around 850.00.

The platform is a 65# ground, tapped, milled and painted 14 x 20 ( or custom ) piece of cast iron.  It also utilizes my own 2.5" adjustable aluminum cup footers with cork balls. For such a "simple" thing is requires quite a bit of work, which is reflected in its 500+ dollar price.  It does work very well, however.

Thanks everyone,

Bruce
