I would like to pick your, kind gentlemen, brains a little.  I have a problem with my AKSA 100N.  After a speaker cable short one of the modules developed a loud static, crackling sound (like FM station out of tune while playing loud).  I can still hear the music playing and the noise is still there with no input wires soldered on. The noise is louder when input wires are connected and even more loader when I start playing.  At switch off I hear a load pop, which is way loader than normal.
I ruled out cables, source and volume control. It must be amp.

I started gradually replacing semiconductors starting with T1, T2, then T3.  That didn't help.  I also re-soldered my module with no improvement.

All the voltages are within range, those that I measured anyways.

My question is it possible for caps to do that?  Could it be drivers T5, T6?
Maybe output transistors are on their last legs?
Thanks for your input in advance.

N,

I've just had another thought.  Check R2, the 10R resistor, is good.

Sometimes a short will take out this resistor and allow the input to float.  This can create the symptoms you mention.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Hugh

I don't know what to say - Hugh came through again. Thank You very very much, I changed this R2 10R resistor and the noise is gone.
