Hi Rick.
I just find out that both of the raal tweeters of the tempesta are blown.
Is there anyway to fix it without getting new drivers as these are quite expensive.
The tweeter channel are working as i tested with acuton drivers.
Perhaps a new crossovet to work as a 2 way with accuton as mid-high and scanspeak woofer?

Sorry to hear that. Replacement ribbon elements are available and it's not difficult to do. Here's the video link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvylZF9eJOA

Is it just a torn ribbon? I've had that repaired a few times, not a big deal. My local repair shop did it but it's not difficult.

I read your posts on the Audioholics forum. Always turn on your pre-amp first before turning on your amplifier. Do the reverse when turning off both units. You also mentioned that you had transferred the drivers to another cabinet. Was anything else changed in the process?

Thank you Rick.
Yes, i believe the blown was caused by the pop of them preamp.
Nothing is changed in the crossover except i need to lengthen the wires for the drives.
So is likely the film of ribbon that is blown and not the transformers?

I've never had a transformer damaged in a ribbon tweeter. Free advice is not always good advice.

Good thing the replacement ribbon are alot cheaper than the whole unit.

Hi Rick,
Could you tell me the polarity of the wires from the crossover to the drivers? The wire used seems to be the same color with one of them having a small white strip to distinguish between them.
Thank you

The white striped wire is the (-) / negative connection.
