In an effort to also involve those who might help from out of state, and those local who cannot attend, we are starting a thread where you can post a bid for any numbered item, and I will edit this post daily to show the current bid price. We kindly ask that you consider a minimum bid increment of $5 to $10 or higher as the mood strikes, and please keep bids in a whole dollar figure. No penny, nickel, dime, or quarter raises... save those for the card game!

NOTE: TO BID, PLEASE MESSAGE ME. THIS WAY, I ONLY NEED TO LOOK IN ONE PLACE FOR BIDS...MY PRIVATE MESSAGES AT AC. WE WILL ALSO NEED YOUR PH.#

On Sunday the 12th, the highest bid for each numbered item will be transferred to the silent auction bid sheet for that item. If no one at the event raises your bid, you will be the winner.

Winners are welcome to take their prizes home from the event, or nonattending local winners can make arrangements for a friend at the event to take them home. We will gladly turn out of town winners over to David McRunnel, an attending audiophile who happens to manage a local UPS shipping store, along with your phone # and address, and he will contact you for shipping instructions and billing matters. As we will have a house to clean at the end of the event, we gracefully wish not to then deal with FedEx, USPS, Pony Express, or drone deliveries. Everything will run through David.

Dear GAS gentry,

The shindig (How did this word get applied to such a patrician gathering?) is happening at Dave Sheckleton's June 12 from 2-5 P.M. There will be food, spirits, good conversation, and a silent auction. Some (not all, by any means) of the items up for bid at the silent auction are audio items. There should be a pair of speakers, which you can view in this thread. Other people have promised small items, but they are not yet in my possession, so I will wait to list them.

The goods in my possession are too numerous to list here, but some of the highlights are:

1. 2 PS Audio "PS Noise Harvesters": Retail is $100 each, typical selling price in retail stores is $75, starting bid: $15 each, two available.

Remember, please provide your phone number if you bid. We need to be able to reach you easily if you win, and are not present on location. Thx

Dear folks,

For those of you who have asked me to do proxy bids up to a certain amount at the forthcoming auction, my cell phone # is: (314) 714-4790. I rarely even have it turned on, but I'll have it on during the fundraiser, and you can call me. HOWEVER, keep in mind that this phone does not do texting, does not take messages, so you'll have to call me in person. And I ask you to keep it as simple as you can. Just put forth a bid of what you're willing to go up to, and we'll keep it at that. It would be hard to broker a bidding war by cell phone.

It should be fun!

Today is the last day we will process bids through PM here at AC.

Tomorrow will be proxy and in person bids ONLY, so act accordingly if you want to win anything. There are items for bid that did not make it on our main list, not out of any disregard or slight, but because there are any number of other things we have to do in preparing the event. They will be available at the event for bid, along with any other donated items.

Thanks, Dave and Francis

Dear folks,

The wee hours are upon us, but Abbe and I are still making preparations for the fest, feed, and silent auction tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave and Colleen are doing the same.

Unless someone objects with sound reason(s), I am going to make one small change to my previous pledge to not bid on any items. This pledge originally came out of someone accusing me of acquiring this gear, for free from dealers, so I could bid on it and get it cheap. Well, that wasn't so, but I decided to not bid on anything as a result so as to allay any concerns. And still, even now, I won't bid on any gear I myself am donating, have acquired from other private parties or dealers, or requisitioned in any way.

But I am going to make this exception: If there is something at the silent auction I neither donated or even requisitioned, then I am going to allow myself the right to bid on it myself. E.g., those small speakers, or the gourmet cupcakes, or any Shetland pony that Liam lured in to the yard.

If anyone finds my choice objectionable, then please communicate this to me.

Meanwhile, back to work. Abbe's Prius will be loaded full when we head over to Dave's tomorrow.

Thank you in advance,

Francis Baumli
