Something fun to do to test your power conditioner...
Put a 128kbps MP3 onto a CD or ready on your media server. Have everything plugged into the power conditioner. Play the song, does it sound like real music? It should sound decent, like music. It won't of course be as good as CD or SACD quality, but it shouldn't be oppressive. Turn the volume to loud, but enjoyable. Don't touch the volume before the next part.
Now plug everything into the wall and not your power conditioner. Play that same MP3 at the same volume. See if it doesn't make you cringe. If it doesn't, you got a pretty nice DAC. It it does then you got a nice power conditioner. You win either way! Unless the MP3 was harsh prior and post then you got issues.
On cheaper setups this can be the difference between enjoying music and cringing, backing away, saying turn it off or down and letting the song play through because you like it.
