Encrypting and password protecting a folder
« on: 5 Jun 2013, 12:57 am »
I have a folder filled with files that I want to send to someone. I've tried to zip, encrypt and password protect it using Peazip or 7 zip but the files and folder names are visible even though the contents are encrypted.

Does anyone know how to zip, encrypt and password protect a folder so that the file and folder names within the zip file are not visible until after the password is entered?

You can "double zip" it by adding a zipfile to a new zipfile and password protecting that zipfile.

i use little more robust method...there is freeware called truecrypt . First i make folder into a zip file pwd protect it if you need it and then i use truecrypt it and it encrypts the entire file i then send the file the other side person needs truecrypt to uncrypt it

i then send the file the other side person needs truecrypt to uncrypt it

The person decrypting it will also need the password and/or key file for same.
