The amps are TRL Samson, 300WPC.  From day one they've had slight mechanical hum.  Nothing earth shattering but I wouldn't mind zapping the hum for peace of mind.

" Plug your power amplifier into one of its AC outlets, and your preamp or a AC terminal strip for the rest of your equipment into its other AC outlet and DC related hum will be dinged. "

Would plugging 2 AC terminal strips be too much?  One side for the mono's and the other side for preamp and DAC?

Nice clean little package Frank & Co. Well done. And at your usual more bang for the buck price.  :thumb:

My Humdinger was shipped today!

It arrived on Friday. In February I got a Emotiva XPA-2, and plugged it into the wall. That's when the hum started, and it ended when I plugged in the Humdinger.
Is there any concern about placement in relation to cables, wires, etc.?

Can this device be used for a 230 V power line or there is a different version to be used with 230 line

Our HumDinger will work just fine on 220-240 V AC.

However the HumDinger chassis is designed for 120V USA three conductor AC outlets only.

The workaround is to order inexpensive adaptor cables from stayonline.com.

Thanks for your interest.

Yes, for 220 - 240V operation, you will need power cords with USA connectors on the ends that plug into the HumDinger AC outlets.  The Humdinger AC in uses a standard IHF power cord plug in jack.

Here is the link to the Humdinger at our web site.  Note that it should not be used ahead of a line conditioner. These have very undocumented arrays of inductors, capacitors, and who know what else that may cause the HumDinger to overheat.  It is fine to use after the line conditioner.

Do you mean IEC, specifically IEC C14 (that accepts C13 plug connectors)?

Thanks for reply again
Absolutely no type of  conditioners used
So it should be OK

It's for a friend whose Karan acoustics integrated amp transformer is humming way too loud but only in his apartment. We tried at two more places, one in the same building but no humming what so ever

I am not up to speed on the names of IEC connectors.  I mean the standard USA 3 conductor AC plug socket that matches all of those power cords out there in the USA.  Look at the link to the Humdinger above and look at the photos of both ends.

Hi Frank
My friend has placed the order of the humdinger and it should reach us within few days
Anything specific we will need to do before connecting it to a 240v power supply?

I use a Humdinger with my Karan Acoustics integrated amp as I had the same hum problem after I moved to a new place.  Works great and the amp is dead silent now.

I am so happy to read your message since you have the same amp what my friend uses
He bought the amp on my recommendation and it truly sounds very good
Issue I'd it only hums at his house and not at 3 more places where we tried.
Once we install the humdinger I will surely update the thread with my findings

The Humdinger will accept an IEC-13 power cord. (standard)

Hopefully its not supplied with an IEC-13 connector, which would violate CE rules.....

Go to Stayonline.com for the appropriate adaptor for 240V for your country.
