My "going back to film" period in my life right now. Shot this on location
Finally worked out how to get the best out of the 25iso ortho film (rate it at 12ISO process in Rodinal 1:100 dilution for 10mins @16deg).

I had the 1200joules Broncolor Mobil flash pack at full power trying to get it to f11 but the best it could produce was f8 so I had to shoot it at f8

The 180mm lens has fungus inside which i took apart and cleaned (180mm is about 55mm in a SLR camera)

Did another version on the Hasselblad H2D digital medium format camera

Wonderful shots navi!

:o You've got to be shitting me, Navi!  Did you travel to Middle Earth to photograph an elven princess?  She can't be real, that's gotta be CGI, right?  Is there a human genetic breeding program I haven't heard about?

Been playing my "new" vintage, 1985 Minolta 70-210mm f/4.0 "Beercan" Lens.

Morning Dove at the bird feeder in the early morning light.
ISO 400, 210mm (320mm equivalent - full out), f/5.6, 1/250

Hey!

    Lovely dove there. :D

As for the Minolta "Beercan" zoom. Even though it came from the film 's era but it is still a wonderful zoom... fast enough at f4 and small enough for all day shooting and extremely well built. Sadly there is nothing like that in Sony's line right now... actually even back in the later years of Minolta AF too. Either you go all out with the 70-200mm f2.8 or lower one with variable aperture.

Should have both 2 or 3 of them back than before Sony took over Minolta while it was still cheap and sell them for more now.

FYI... this Beercan zoom might and likely have a Leica connection. Back in the early '70s Minolta and Leica had a joint venture  of which early Leica R series SLR were based and used parts from Minolta. And than Minolta released Leitz Minolta CL and later CLE of which accept M mount. Because of that Leica also have an almost identical zoom as the Minolta's Beercan. Not sure who made the lens or designed it but likely both share technology on this... design, coating and etc. Personally I believe they are identical optically wise, but Leica have better barrel and sell tighter tolerance one.

Anyway, enjoy the "Beercan"... do get a good VU filter for it to protect the front though. And do use the hood when shooting for best result.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

It's quite difficult at f/1.2 with today's modern camera viewfinders.  I'll have some examples later on.

Thanks, but regrettably no income is generated from my hobbies, e.g. photography, audio, golf..

Just got these irons in last night and heading out to course in an hour.  I will likely stink up the course with zero practice on the new clubs, but it's a nice day  :green:

Pups will always be pups, and I'm thankful for that.  Beautiful markings!  Since I can't tell from the photo, he/she will be a great looking dog.
