rosconey,
I'll take the snow any day...bring it on. It's the bitter cold I can do without. I am only a few miles down the road from you and it's currently 14 degrees outside. I would love to see 36" fall here (so would my kids).

I could be out "playing" during the day and sitting in front of the fire  enjoying the music at night. If the fire goes out, the tubes will keep me warm.

lol, Brandon, I would rather be in Hawaii on the beach right now, then here. of course we have the snow, we have been lucky the last week, but the last strom brought us about 2feet os the white stuff, and I was outside for 3 1/2 hours clearing our kinda small driveway, and the snow blower had a hard time also (Troy-Built, 8hp Techomsha, 24" auger, nice machine)

although, OTOH, snowmobiling really pays off, especialy when your cruising around on a vintage sled  8)

I'm currently listening to:

1960's dynaco ST-70 connected for current ss AVR for now (Outlaw 1050)
1977 Klipsch Cornwalls (front)
1976 Heresys centers and surrounds
1970's Beogram 3000 TT

EDIT:
I sold the Beogram and bought a MMF-5
I added a 1960 Scott 355 pre-amp/tuner
I redeployed my 1980's Carver C500 for HT use with the outlaw.

Outlaw/Carver for HT
Scott/Dynaco for 2-channel

I still have my H.H. Scott LK-48B integrated tube amp that I bought at Radio Shack and built when I was about 17 (39 years ago).  I'm going to re-cap it and put it in service in a "vintage room".  I recently bought a Scott 222C (factory-built integrated amp prior version) and have the upgrade caps for it and will do it first.  The speakers will be my original Large Advents.  I've also still got my Dynaco AF-6 tuner that I built from a kit.  It's gonna be fun!

My amp (power source) changes frequently but the speakers in my vintage system located in my home office are 69' Dynaco A-25s, tuners are older analog AKAI custom finished in Cherry real wood veneer and a Dynaco FM-5.

I usually run the system with lower powered tube gear but a good 50 watt tube amp really brings the Dynacos alive. I really miss my old McIntosh MC1500 tube receiver with these speakers.

I have just taken this system down to do some upgrades in the speaker x-overs and redo the grills. I also want to refinish the cabinets. Time is a great issue right now so they may be down for some time.

Afterwards, I would like to get another pair and try stacking.

SAE 8000 Tuner (circa 1980), Thorens TD-316 (original - circa 1987) and Monster Cable Reference A's between tuner and pre.

Got some Audioquest sorbothane footers (large and small) from that era, too.

Marantz 2230 on the modest video system now to boot.

I have repurchased the stuff I had in college for my home office:

- Dynaco ST 120, PAT 4 and FM 5 (factory)
- AR 5 speakers (refurbished)
- Thorens TD 280 TT

It doesn't sound as good as back in the day when I smoked a lot in that frat house, but I enjoy looking at it and the flashbacks it gives.  Oh, and I have a premo Viking 8-track recorder for grins that I've kept for some unknown reason for over 30 years.  I think I'll be buried with that one.

I currently run a pair of 1950 era Stromberg/Carlson AP426 mono-blocks.These were purchased from a friend who bought them from the owner of Coincident speaker technology.Upgraded binding posts(from the Super -Eclipses),metal resistors, gold RCA posts.I had them modified further by Tubesville in NYC ,all new caps(paper in oil) and Svetlana /Genelex/Mullard/tubes.I run these directly with my Naim cd5/flatcap combo with all Mapleshade PLUS version cables.I also have to mention that every piece of gear is on a mapleshade triple point brass cone and maple block with the mapleshade rack. I get a big, bold musical presentation.Total cost for the amps with all the upgrades is around $1,200.My technician at Tubesville(Blackie Pagano-master of all things audio)said that I'd have to spend at least $4 grand to get a piece that would be considered an upgrade.

I have a number of vintage pieces that get mixed and moved from time to time. Currently have 2 setups running:

Living room has a Kenwood KR-7600 running JBL 4311's. Sources are Thorens TD 145, Yamaha CDC635, and a cassette deck that I can't recall.

In the garage I have an SAE A7 / T7 amp and tuner and L-100's. An old beat up Yamaha CD changer is the main source here so I can load it up and work on things without having to worry about changing anything.

I have an SX-1250 I'm trying to get inside, but it's so dam big it won't fit in anything, which means low WAF. :nono:   But, it's a great rocker when used with the 4311's and L100's.

There is also a 2238b, which is underpowered for the JBL's IMO and yet another set of L-100's that I got for 50 bucks from SA so I couldn't afford not to buy them.

How about an Advent 300 receiver switched to mono to drive a '61 Electrovoice Aristocrat corner horn.  I can feed the signal from my big rig to the Advent's tape-in and listen to mono.

When the bug bites.......

H.H. Scott 222C integrated, just refurbed & retubed.   Such a sweet sound.
H.H. Scott 310E FM Stereo Tuner.  Still the best I've heard.  It pulls signals from over 60 miles that most new solid state tuners can't find.

Currently pushing a pair of Paradigm Refernce Studio 20's.  Need to find a pair of small Advents in reasonable shape.  That will be on the list after a few other toys.
