Hi, for 8'' FR my favorite plan are the new Frugal Horn, seems the correct name is Carina, Iam not sure.

For 12'' FR drivers I would suggest the Lii Audio F12 in a Bass Reflex box, a BR box is always better than a huge horn IMO, or better yet the famous F15 $399/pair in the Lii Audio recommended plan at botton of the page.

So far I have never see 12'' horn in US.
I remember something in Germany many years ago.

This is a OB it have no box in back by what I can see.
In this case I suggest you the Lii Audio F15 $399/pair in the usual OB Barrels baffle.

Large horns have coloration issues due to "flimsy" panels (must be extremely stiff to resist small vibrations and high pressures).

Some front horn inspirations:
https://inlowsound.weebly.com/

Since large diameter full range cones are already highly directional at upper frequencies they are not often paired with front horns. The horn makes a smaller diameter cone behave like a larger driver with less distortion and less beaming. Larger drivers often better suited to bass horns. But innovation is the fun of diy so give it a try!

right actually 8 inchers are more detailed and suited for full range duty
but my 12 inch is field coil and i wanted to try that in front horn like 8 , so anyway i think open baffle is the way to go for 12 inch

You can use Tractrix curve like your Oris horn or the Le’Cleach curve scale up for the 12” driver, I have done square Tractrix horns with my 12” field coil drivers, it was build out of 2”x6” solid hardwood planks shaped and glue together. It is a lot of work and expense and be sure your drivers are worth the effort.

how exactly to scale up? with any particular software?

rich makes very good points. How big a front horn can you live with?

horn will only load 3 maybe 4 ocatves. Oris lifts the lower range so the rising response of the Lowthers is matched with th egain from the horn down low.

Given the larger throast needed to support a 10 or 12”, you can sort of imagine taking a saw to your Oris and cutting the skinny end until it is big enuff to support the driver. Now we have a much shorter horn (for the same LF cutoff) but not as much gain.

So no point unless you are willing to go lower (and way bigger) it doesn’t make much sense. And now that the horn is producing more LF and not as much gain up high the wavelengths are long enuff that A BLH will produce similar, if not better, performance.

And then factor in that i figure the optimum sixe for a single FR driver system is 4-5”, and if you say, i need more bass, i’ll go bigger, but you lose midTop performance. If you really want more bottom, build a WAW.
