I watched that very carefully (after I ordered the 1540 on faith, heh), and the relaxed treble part worries me. Being less bright than the legendary Senn HD800 is no problem, even if it were a 5 db difference. But some of these headphones with 'relaxed' treble are recessed unevenly, making some high freq. sounds less reliable than others in their harmonic reproduction. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that Shure did this one right, and for $500 they probably have.
I have to admit I take all reviews with a pinch of salt, I never buy anything till I have listened to it myself. Just because someone else likes it does not mean I will, since I will be spending my own money and I am the one that has to live with it I have to be sure.
