When to Astor Wine in NYC last week and saw some inexpensive riesling wines there so I picked up a bottle of Rheingau, Kreusch - 2009 riesling. So I made riesling wine poached pears yesterday. And this is what came out of the pot

Well, I made 5 pears, the rest are in the fridge for later
Actually I'm eating the one shown in the above picture right now!
Honestly I think I left the wine reduction just a bit too long on the burner... still good though.
But I would prefer to have the sauce a bit lighter... OK next time.
Anyway, mmmm... that was one sweet savory pear.
