Greetings from Toronto, Canada

Hi all,

I am not sure if it is a record or not - I originally registered my account 13 years ago (June 6, 2007) and had one post here... I am way more active on other audio forums and facebook groups, but didn't get a chance to participate on this forum (yet).

I have been restoring vintage audio gear as a hobby for 15+ years now, starting with 1930s radios (1936 RCA 15K-1 is my prized restored radio) and mostly not going beyond 1970s amplifiers and turntables. I do have a degree in Electrical Engineering, spending first several years of my career working on aerospace projects, including picking, testing and screening EEE parts.

My current main setup is:

* Denon DP-45F turntable with Denon DL-103 MC cartridge and AU-310 SUT
* California Audio Labs CL-10 5-disc CD changer
* Dynaco PAS-3 restored preamplifier
* Dynaco MK-III restored monoblock amplifiers
* Velodyne ULD-15 restored subwoofer via Musical Fidelity X-10 v.3 buffer
* B&W Matrix 3 restored speakers (restored Magneplanar MG-II).

Most of the gear in my system came to me in very poor shape and I restored it to fully working condition...

I'm guilty of using my smaller system quite often, since it's much faster to turn on and enjoy...

* Lenco L70 turntable with Empire 888 cartridge
* Harman Kardon A50K restored integrated tube amplifier
* Dynaco A-25 speakers

If anyone is still reading, my current restoration project is Teac A-3440S reel-to-reel (my very first one), and my next project is AMI Rowe CMM-1 Cadette jukebox.

    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
