Running speakers in parallel with Sensation M901
« on: 5 Sep 2013, 10:51 pm »
Hi,

I'm trying to do a 4 channel setup with the M901.  My speakers are AV123 ELT525M and X-Omni (both 8 ohm).  I'm connecting the amp to one set of speakers, then running another pair of speaker cables to the other set of speakers.  Is this going to be an issue for the stability and longevity of the amp?

If it is, what would be the best option to run 4 speakers with the M901?  Thanks!   :icon_lol:

2 pairs of 8 ohms will theoretically work.  But remember that is nomonial impedence.  If they drop to 4 ohms, then you will get a net 2 ohm load which will probably kill the amp.

Frankly, those chips were not made for unbelievably low impedence loads.  I'd pickup an ICEPower amp if you want to "abuse" it ;-)
