That Movie was Crap!

Not a film critique professionally but I can spot a crap movie when I see it. What makes a movie bad? Well I suppose it's different for everyone but I'd have to say Bullshit scenes where you know in real life scene is not physically possible, and you know how in Thriller movies the escapee is somehow easily located to resume pursuit when you know in reality if you were looking, you would be lucky to see 'em again, let alone pick up their scent within minutes/seconds. One more, persons seem unfazed by having a gun pointed at 'em when I'd be crapping my pants.

So after scanning through Netflix I decided on the movie 'The Other Guys' 2010. I watched the whole thing and must say I thought the movie was crap and couldn't wait for it to end.

Other movies off hand that I thought were crap, Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skulls. And one more Charlie's Angels.

For me it comes down to bad acting, bad lighting and/or a poor script.  Or something that feels deliberately and heavy handed manipulative.  Which is why I can't enjoy most Spielberg movies.

BTW, "The Other Guys" was a satire, basically making fun of the ridiculous tropes in other action movies.

Hey!

Yeah, as much as I like the Indiana Jones movie franchise in general. But the latest one, "The Crystal Skulls" made me scratches my head with the ending! Well, not that I don't believe that there are other life forms out there in the universe, but it was so out of character of the whole series. Although the end was a surprise for me but it wasn't a good surprise and ruined that movie for me.

Anyway, there's one good thing with "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls" Cate Blanchett is super hot with that bob hair with bangs in that movie! :inlove:

Sometimes a movie is so bad you can't look away, The 1975 film Tommy by Ken Russell is a perfect example.

Somehow I missed this movie when it came out, the single movie theater in Julesburg, CO skipped it. Our local PBS station screened it last Saturday night without commercials.

Over the top, excessive, exhilarating and exhausting all at the same time, watch it at your own risk.

The film goes through the complete rock opera and is performed by:
Oliver Reed    ...    Frank
Ann-Margret    ...    Nora
Roger Daltrey    ...    Tommy
Elton John    ...    The Pinball Wizard
Eric Clapton    ...    The Preacher
Pete Townshend ...  Self
John Entwistle ...    Self
Keith Moon       ...    Uncle Ernie
Paul Nicholas    ...    Cousin Kevin
Jack Nicholson ...    The Specialist
Robert Powell    ...    Captain Walker
Tina Turner   ...       The Acid Queen

I was following along till you mentioned that one of my favorites movies is crap. Now I think your taste is just crap. (BTW the unedited version has a few improvements and things I don't like, like scenes with Terry and his ex who does/says amazing things that blow her mind again like his ballet ability)

Movies do annoy me a lot when people get shot and go flying. Worse yet where in one scene they get shot and fall over forwards, and the next scene they go flying. Physics class anyone? If the movie is just meant to be goofy sure whatever, but follow your own rules and if you're going realistic don't do weird shit.

There's a LOT of bad movies. They greatly outweigh the good.

But... In my top scenes from movies category the "drinking with Terry Hoyt" scene is amazing. I have no idea how they did it, but that was AWESOME, funny, totally new, and an amazing way to tell part of a story.

Sometimes a movie is so bad it’s good. Other times a movie may just be bad. Is that a movie cliche😉?

Good movies (ones worth watching) are few and far between.
