Cone/decoupling glider. Needed for revel salon 2?
« on: 16 Apr 2014, 03:23 am »
I'm getting some revel salon 2s for my studio. I have some dynaudio C4s in the house on a wood floor and use the glider to keep from scratching, they work great not sure of what role they play in improving the sound. The salon 2 will be sitting on carpet on a wood floor built up over a slab. Would they improve the sound in this situation or are the speakers fine just sitting on the spikes?

The speakers should do well as they are. Cone/Spike Decoupling Gliders will very most likely improve the sound though, compared to using just the spikes alone. If the carpet is very thick and spongy, you might have a little more potential wobble than you would like because the Salon 2s are very tall with a narrow footprint; if so, Giant Cone/Spike Decoupling Gliders would be a better option (or Giant Fat Gliders without using the spikes at all).
