I ended up being a tube guy after many years with solid state gear:

Linn, Roon & Nucleus, Jay's Audio Transport, Conrad Johnson, Audio Note Kit DAC, VAC power amp. I am using Falcon Acoustics LS3/5a speakers most of the time..

Brand new member but also out of Chicago!

Right now I'm running Martin Logan Aeon i's through ciaudio d100's, along side a Decent sub and Theater i center. Bit of a hodpodge system (even though it is all Martin Logan). However, I came to looking to upgrade pretty much everything.

https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=175659.0 is the topic that actually brought me to the site - Hoping to grab it as my digital source (but I get it, i do have to prove i'm a real person first lol. I want to run it & my turntable into a passive controller, then out to a pair of d500 MKII from Ci Audio and into Martin Logan Renaissance or Expressions, depending on how much $$ I have left. Should be able to get it all together by the end of the year so I'm excited.

I am up near Lake Geneva - and I am not a cheese head...

I was all tubes and now find myself liking some of the solid state gear that I put back into my system.  I put it back in to check in order to start selling it , and now I like that sound...

Bill - why did you decide to leave tubes?

  I retired from being Eastern Electric distributor and my hearing isn't what it use to be.

Just didn't want the hassle of tracking down any noise or tube rush as I hit 67 and after auditioning the Pass Labs gear
 
with low noise floor but the sonic beauty of the X250.8 with a XP22 preamp was the ticket for me.

Right now I'm running 90's "golden era" digital front end (SF SFT-1 transport >> Wadia 15) to an Audio Research LS-27II to a First Watt SIT-3 played through Zu Soul Supremes.

I feel like I'm at the peak of sound in my system right now.  How long will it last ?

Been here a long time, don't remember why I never posted. Took a pause in the hobby, but things have ramped up. Out in the Western Fox valley suburbs, looking forward to Axpona next week.
