What's your favorite Dexter Gordon LP?

Unlike nearly every jazz artist with some longevity, I don't think Dexter ever made a bad LP.  From his early 50's stuff to the late 80's, Dexter stuff was always interesting and enjoyable.
What's your favorite?

For a long time it was a tie between "Go" and "A Swingin' Affair". But that changed when I picked up "Live at Montmarte Jazzhus". Maybe because it's live vs. studio. Or maybe because it's 3 disks vs. single disks, so like 3 is better than 1. Whatev, it's my fav.

Easy ... "One Flight Up". It was my first Dexter Gordon LP, and still favorite. Picked it up over 40 years ago. He is smokin' on long track "Tanya"!

I'm with the guy above me! And George Tucker's bass throughout the recording.

It's revealing that there are 5 albums cited as best or near best.  Not many artist  can hit the mark so consistently.  My vote is
"One Flight Up".

Wow, I love Dex, this is hard. My Discogs account has 34 entries next to his name.

I agree with SCLARK, "One Flight Up", but that will change with the next Dex title I listen to I suppose.

Nobody mentioned Go?

My vote goes for One Flight Up, a different Dexter record with only three cuts.. The 18 minute version of Donald Byrd’s Tanya takes up the entire first side with democratic Dexter playing less out front than usual giving the entire group equal presence. I’ve played the first side for folks unfamiliar with the record asking them to guess if it was Freddie Hubbard’s or Donald Byrd’s or Dexter Gordon’s. Most say it’s Freddie Hubbard’s and no one ever guesses Dexter. The Side B is more familiar territory and his playing on Darn That Dream is especially noteworthy.

Nobody mentioned Go?

Espace Cardin 1977

Intimate live venue, not the best recording quality but Dexter delivers and I like it a lot.

is pretty good. This is Dexter in optima form just before returning to the states.
and don't forget Herbie Hancock's first album; Taking off. That was one of Dexter's first recordings after being released from jail;

I don't know what my favorite Dexter Gordon album is, but my favorite Dexter Gordon song is "Evergreenish" from the album "The Jumpin' Blues".

As the others have said, he consistently made good records, so it is hard to choose.
My favorite musically is "Homecoming", although the recording isn't very good (boomy bass) so that takes away from the listening enjoyment a bit.

I was luck enough to see him perform in the late 70's, with Billy Higgins as drummer.
