"Broad Band" Type subs with Fostex F200A
« on: 30 Jan 2010, 04:00 pm »
Ok, you might think I'm crazy but... I've got a pair of Fostex F200A's that are sitting in a JE Labs style OB. They sound fantastic (and can handle complex music unlike any other Fostex I've heard) but I've got 2 rooms and 3 (or is it 4?)  pairs of speakers. So can anyone suggest an appropriate enclosure that might make these work as a sort of "broad band" sub ?  I've got the Geddes Nathan 10s and am building a set of 38 Hz tapped horns currently. These Fostex based "subs" would be an upper bass fill in (ie Tact corner woofers) . I've played with some of the enclosure modeling programs before but I certainly don't trust my ability to maximize results.

Thanks all, Daniel.

Seems like a terrible waste to me....but a way to get as much bass out of a driver as possible may be a tapped horn like the BIB (Bigger Is Better).  Check it out at:
