You will hear a difference. I had the Antelope and it was not bad, just a tad anylytical. I personally would not spend a lot of money on a new DAC. The cheaper ones are sounding better and better. I now own a Bluesound Node 2i, and for $500, it sounds very good for the price. I have also owned several DAC's costing $3000 and more. I do not miss any of them.
You can buy one from Music Direct and return it in 60 days if you do not like it.
