Title: Guinea Pigs Wanted!
Post by: DaveC113 on 1 Feb 2016, 11:33 pm
I'd like a few volunteers to stop by and do some listening tests. It'll be fun! I have beer and snacks.  :green:

There's a bit of work too, taking some notes, listening to the same test tracks several times, etc... but also some general preference testing that involves playing music you already like and are very familiar with.

The ideal candidate is 5'6", 125 lbs (sorry, bad joke) ...or maybe it's best if I just settle for folks that like music and have a decent ear, with experience listening to music live and ideally in various hifi systems as well.

I'm located in Lafayette, CO. Let me know via PM or email dave@zenwaveaudio.com. I'm thinking just a few folks to start, see how it goes... would be nice to do the first test in 10-14 days from now.

Perhaps specifying gender will help you.  ;)

"The ideal candidate is 5'6", 125 lbs... "     Sounds like he is wanting listeners of the "Babe" persuasion...

Yes, it was a joke, as the likelihood of that happening is pretty, umm slim...

Any size and gender is welcome.  :)

Is it true that women hear better?  Also, how is your speaker coming along?

Yes, that's true.. good point!  :icon_twisted:

The speaker is coming along very well, thanks! Obviously some challenges but one of the most critical challenges is working out better than I could have expected, the bass flows seamlessly into the mids, very cohesive and natural sounding. Other speakers of this type have had issues in this area but I think I've chosen a driver and design that seems to be working really well as the bass is very "fast" and doesn't sound disjointed at all. I'll start a thread when the final prototype speaker is done.

Airfare included?

I'll chip in $5.   :P

But I do have beer and snacks, much more pleasant than air travel...

Too bad it is not RMAF time because my daughter lives in Lone Tree and I would fly over for a visit.
