Brutes in figured walnut
« on: 17 Feb 2024, 03:37 pm »
Here's a pic of the Brutes I recently finished in figured walnut veneer.  Last weekend, I cut out 1" mdf, minus the baffles, for a matching sealed sub.  I haven't ordered the amp or driver yet.

Beautiful work.  What method (glue?) did you use to attach the veneer?  DId you buy the flat pack or build from scratch?

Thanks.  I built from scratch.  Thanks goes out to Presb4 for posting pics of his build.  The pics helped during construction. I used HeatLock veneer glue. The glue and veneer were purchased from Veneer Supplies.  I used the recommended roller to apply the glue to the veneer and mdf.  It was ironed on when dry.

Very nicely done!! Love the organic look of wood, the stands look like they might work well/better if you have lower seating in your listening room. Nice build.

Thanks.  My chair is low and reclined.  The tweeters are at ear level.

No resonance in those cabinets.  The old school line is rock solid.

Very nice build indeed. And thanks for the shout out.
Question? Did you use spikes on the bottom of the stands or some rubber isolation feet?
