Sound Upgrade Cambridge Audio Dac Magic Plus
« on: 12 Jul 2019, 08:32 pm »
I have moved my digital files to a different music system that has a Cambridge Audio Dac Magic Plus. Up to this point, I have streamed the music files from my phone through the Bluetooth port on the DM+. Now I am looking to link my laptop to the DM+ via USB.

I have read good things about the USB Disruptor and "DaBigGenie" no 5 volt cables. The reviews seem extremely positive for DACs needing 5 volt power from the computer to operate. However, it is less clear if there is as much audible difference in using "DaBigGenie" since the DM+ already has its own power supply.

Anybody have experience with USB Disruptor or DaBigGenie " they would be willing to share?

Thanks,

Joe

Let me just say up front that there is nothing inherently wrong with USB audio data transfer hardware and software/protocols that requires “fixing” for optimal audio performance.
