Hello! New member introduction

Hello all -
I'm happy to join you, because I have questions and I bet you've got answers. I don't have a lot to offer the group, but I can at least promise that I'll be a good citizen - no ranting, etc. Here's my story - back in the 90's (I think) I wanted a new system. Fortunately, I had a friend who was deep into audio, so my research consisted of asking him "what should I get?". He pointed me to a Jolida J-502a amp, and a pair of Sound Dynamics 300ti speakers. I was thrilled with what I heard. Time passes, now I'm retired: more time to listen to music. I hope to get some guidance about the aging gear I have, and other options (!) out there.

There's never been a better time to get into audio.  CD quality streaming services offer an inexpensive access to millions of albums (Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, or Amazon HD).  And active monitors allow for all-in-one solutions to quality sound KEF LS50 Wireless 2 for example).  All controlled from your phone, tablet, or laptop.

That's an exciting "big picture". I'll try to keep my eye (ears) on the music opportunities, and not get lost in the technical details. Well, maybe only a little lost
