Brian's rosewood 1801's

While the Ellis 1801's are not our design, it remains one of my favorite stand-mounted monitor speakers.  So we do build quite a few pairs.

Brian recently contacted us about doing a pair in rosewood.

Here are the results...

Here is a close-up...

Happy listening, Brian!

Jim,

Looks quite similar to the pair of non-ported 1801's you did for me a few years ago out of Pau Ferro. Still love 'em!

Dana -

I remember those speakers well.  They took quite an effort - like giving birth.

Yes, the looks are quite similar in terms of grain pattern.  These are slightly more red/orange in comparison.

I've looked for more of the Pau Ferro ever since completing your speakers.  But I have yet to run across any quite as nice.

Glad to hear the 1801 still passes muster.  I haven't had a chance to revisit that design in a couple of years, and I'm always worried about changing driver parameters.  That was my first experience using the W18, and it was certainly a happy one.  Seas makes good stuff (as does Hiquphon).
