Amber 3 Low Volume DSD Files Roon?
« on: 24 Dec 2019, 03:57 am »
Just received my Amber 3 and I can’t seem figure out why my DSD files have hardly any volume? Setup is USB to Aries Mini with Roon as playback engine. Any suggestions? I emailed Lukasz but crickets!?! Probably busy with holidays.

Thanks

DSD is generally 6dB quieter than the same recording in native PCM. This is to prevent overload in the sigma-delta modulator. Typically you can boost the playback (or DSD to PCM conversion) by 6dB, especially with classical recordings, but there are DSD recordings mastered without 6dB of headroom.

FIXED! Set “Volume Leveling” in Roon settings for my Aries Mini to “Auto” and BOOM, all is good!
