Title: HRT Music Streamer 2 review
Post by: sonicxtc on 12 Dec 2011, 01:30 pm
Hi,
This is a quick review of the HRT music streamer 2. I've been putting together an improved office system since I seem to spend so much time in the home office. This is a great little DAC. I cannot claim it is much better than DAC "X, Y or Z," because I'm only comparing it to the soundcard, but the improvement was significant. I've made a lot of changes to the system in a short period, and I'm stunned I could put together such a great "little" system from vintage gear and this Dac for under $500. Vintage rocks.

Anyway, if you're seeking a good (possibly great) DAC for streaming via USB, this is simple, works well, sounds fine and handles up to 24/96 signals. Retail: $149.

I am actually going to try it on my main system to see how it compares to the EAD 7000 mk3. I'll post those results in a few weeks.
