For those jazz fans:  Jon Faddis  "Into the Faddisphere"  CD on Epic

Pick a number from 1-25.  When all the numbers are gone, or on Sept 1 I'll randomly pick a winner.

At a concert at Yale in 1972 I saw Dizzy introduce a teenage Faddis as his "son."

Faddisphere was a very popular CD on radio when it came out.

Faddisphere was a very popular CD on radio when it came out.
For those not as familiar, Faddis intentionally took Diz as his model, and Diz became a close mentor.  He recorded with Dizzy twice along with a HUGE list of other well known artist... Benson, Burrell, Ron Carter, Mingus, O. Peterson, Blue Mitchell, Grant Green, Paul Simon, Gil Evans, Billy Joel, Clapton, ...... and the list goes on.
