We built these speakers for the AXPONA audio show in Chicago.  They will be available starting Tuesday 3/12/13 after we return from the show.

Here is a picture...

And a close-up...

Automotive finishes normally carry a premium price, but these are available at the normal $3495.

Apparently my reading comprehension is terrible when I'm excited. Anyway, glad to see another set of glossy white SCSTs will be making it out into the wild.

I love Salk's and automotive finishes, but not on speakers. If they were some nice veneer I too, might have bought them..

Oh well....

Funny, we have been getting quite a few orders for white automotive finishes from California lately.  I was talking to a dealer from the LA area and he said it is the single most popular finish for speakers in CA these days.  So we thought we'd show one and see how things went.

Jim,
It was nice meeting you Saturday at the show.
Guess us Midwesterners have different taste than LA!  :D

Hi Jim,

There is certainly nothing wrong with that finish, I'm sure its exemplary like everything you make. But after lusting after your veneers for a year plus I can't have paint!! But thats just me  8)

I love this finish if I ever order a pair of surround speaker to hang on my wall. For now, I still have to pay off my debt from last year purchases.  :green:

I was really on the fence about buying these at Axpona, because of the sound quality and the paint:thumb:
If they would have been veneered I wouldn't even have been tempted. Veneer just isn't in the cards for our decor/tastes.

It was only because it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, (and given that there was another option that interested me in the same class for less) But I stood there literally for 10 min Sunday having quite the "self-debate" and making sure with the lady there (Jim's wife?) that I understood what exactly the  demo price was on this pair.  They sounded great.  To me, these sounded better than the other 2 models there, even the bigger model, in that room/placement.

They look very nice.  I like the finish as well.

They remind me quite a bit of my speakers:
