Sapphire XL: Initial impressions

First impressions:  Extremely well packed, beautifully finished (there
are 2 very minor imperfections in the cabinet finish on one speaker,
though; to me this just adds to the hand-made charm) solidly built, great
documentation. Broke them in only for about 36 hours so far at low to
moderate volume levels.  Impressively detailed and refined treble.
Liquid and lush midrange.  This is exactly what I was after- a midrange
with some gravitas! Expansive sound-stage with depth. Vocals are slightly
recessed compared with the instruments, but that could be recording
related. I haven't had a chance to critically listen to much yet. What I
really didn't expect was the quality of the bass.  I'm not talking
extension here, since I have them crossed over at 80Hz to my sub.
It is the complete lack of overhang and muddying resonances that really
wows me. These Revelator drivers really are all they are cracked up to be.
More after I've listened to the XLs a little bit longer. Yes, you guessed
right- these are keepers!  Oh, and last but not least, the customer
service is GREAT!

Thank you Ajay. I look forward to hearing more as you get the chance. I hadn't had the opportunity to listen to XLs for several months . . . they were all in someone else's hands. Friday I got to listen again for a couple of hours in three different systems . . . THAT was a lot of fun :)
