Bryston shows no sign of deviating from the policy of offering only the best sound they know how to make and I hope they never do. One way of providing low priced components would be to resell their old trade-ins after recapping and careful testing so that it's in new condition performance-wise.

A few weeks ago I set up a system in a friend's office. He has a pair of medium sized Axiom speakers, a BCD-1, an antique .4B preamp and 2B LP power amp. Do these old Bryston components compare at all with the current products? Honestly, no, but they are better than most of what's on the market today and the system sounds just lovely. Music can be enjoyed on it in a serious way. The realism was a welcome surprise and shows that quality is timeless.

If I could direct those on a modest budget to a source of these things at the factory, I would certainly be doing that.
