Covering the transformer?
« on: 26 Feb 2010, 04:07 pm »
I'm considering a Cornet 2 and want to build a custom chassis for it to match a Lenco with a walnut plinth that I recently completed. The basic C2 design is great, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to buy or build a cover for the transformer like the tube products have in the pictures below? I like the one below with the wood sides, but if there's an off the shelf item that would fit it would certainly be easier.

Is it okay to cover the transformer and what materials would I need to use? Any concerns about heat buildup?

No doubt! I just blew my afternoon at work trying to get through the whole catalog. Did you notice those pure copper and pure silver CMC female RCAs. $24 a pair! That is a very good price.
