Title: Peavey KB-100 amp/speaker. Different 15" driver options?
Post by: Bob in St. Louis on 7 Sep 2010, 09:28 pm
A friend and coworker of mine is using a Peavey KB-100 keyboard amp as an amp/speaker for his kick drum. He's not "pro" or anything, just likes to jam with his buddies. The 15" driver has blown and he's looking for a replacement. The driver from Peavey has a list price of about $150. This is WAY more than he's wanting to spend.
I did find >> this Goldwood << (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=290-394) at Parts Express that seems suitable. He really likes the price of this one.

I've not been able to find much in the way of specs for the OE driver, but >> here's the manual << (http://www.peavey.com/media/pdf/manuals/80300976.pdf) with a few numbers. No real T/S specs though.

Ultimately he'd like to find a driver that gives a bit more of that thump in the chest feeling, but not breaking the bank is a definite concern. Would the one I found work, or do you have any other options?

Any assistance would be great. Thanks fellas.
