FS: Fully modded Sony SSCS5 $225 plus shipping

I bought this pair of Sony SSCS5 new after reading about them, in particular Danny Ritchie's review and mod discussion. I didn't want to spend $4-500 on mod parts, so I bought Blanchard Designs mod specs and built a new series crossover from their design, using Audyn caps and Janszen coils, Alphacore M1 wire for crossover and woofers, .9999 20 ga. silver/teflon for tweeters. All much higher quality than ultracheap stock parts. 1 inch foam damping added to walls, woofer baskets and tweeter plates damped with caulk.

After not listening to them for a couple of months I thought I'd give them another spin, this time comparing them to my newer Revel M16s, which are my favorite speaker under $1000.
It was a much closer call than I expected, but I prefer the more laid back nature of the Revels. The Sonys have a very in-room, live presentation, while the Revels put the music more behind the speakers. Yin-yang, but both provide very satisfying detail. Sonys have a deeper soundstage.
I'd keep the Sonys around if I could think of a use for them, but if anyone else wants to give them a try I'll pass them along for $225 plus shipping, $100 less than I have in them, not counting 8-10 hours labor.
I doubt there is any speaker equal to these at this price.
These have been broken in with about 150 hours use, and are in excellent condition.
I'll probably regret selling them someday, but they deserve an audience.
Thanks for having a look!
