We're finishing up on shipping backorders on the new D-100 Class D Monoblocks and new orders are shipping within a couple of days from order.

Thanks to all who've been patiently waiting!

Dusty,

I have been searching for technical details on the new D-100 monos and have come up with very little besides what is on your website.

Are the D-100s available with balanced inputs?

Thanks,
John

The D-100's come standard with single-ended RCA inputs.
The actual input circuit is balanced, so it's simply a matter of drilling out the hole for an XLR and re-wiring the jack.
If you order them factory direct, we will do this at no extra cost.

I just received some Neutrik XLR's and RCA's that fit in a standard XLR cutout. We may go to these jacks in the future so we can offer either type without having to do "custom work".

Thanks.

I have a few more questions...

-> Are the D-100s particularly sensitive to noise in the mains (i.e. do they need voodoo AC conditioning to get them to sing properly?)

-> Are the D-200s coming soon?  I ask because the speakers I am considering are Piegas... not an easy load.    (Of course, the Pipe Dreams aren't exactly a stroll through the park either, are they?)

Hmmm, maybe the best route is going active with a six-pack of D-100s... :flame:

Cheers
John

The D-100's will drive 4 ohm loads without difficulty, even if they dip to 2 ohms. The real limit here is current, the D-100 is capable of about 9A.

The D-200 is in the works, but still a few months away. It will have twice the power (200w@8 ohms / 400w@4 ohms) and current (20A).

So what level of sensitivity of speakers work best bith the D-100s? I have some VMPS RM1's and am looking for a new amp for them and am considering these. Any idea how well the D-100s would drive the RM1s? Also, any idea what the price bump would be for the 200 when it is ready?

The D-100's should drive the RM-1's with ease. I believe they are 4ohms on the woofer pair, which will get about 180w from the D-100.

The D-200's are in the works and will be around $2300 a pair. I doubt you would be able to hear the difference in the two unless you need the extra power/current. These are intended for speakers that present a tough load and require alot of current.

Could you please provide some specs: bandwidth? IHD at 1kHz & 20kHz for 1W output and full power output?

Can you also provide distortion vs. noise graphs of the individual harmonic components at various frequencies? For example, the level of 2nd order through 9th order harmonic distortion (in dB) at 50Hz, 1kHz, and 20kHz.

I'm specifically interested in the relation of upper-order harmonics to low-order, particularly at high frequencies, since this is where the several class D amps I've auditioned have disappointed me.

Thanks!

Here are graphs of our standard production tests.
Frequency Response at 8 ohms (is identical at 4 ohms).
THD+Noise vs Power Output (1khz/both 8 and 4 ohms).

The others will have to wait until I get some free time, which is rare these days.

Ok, I was expecting the feedback to be good, but the reports on Audiogon are freak'n wild.  :o

Get a load of the list of amps the D-100 has been compared too...

Yikes.

Gain selection

How is the gain selected (32dB vs. 26dB)? Is this user-configurable or only factory-selectable?

Options are configured by us when the order is placed, not user selectable.
