They've made CD/DVD burners for a very long time.  Apparently they also make bicycle computers.

In the automotive sector, I've not seen any tie-ins of the kind that Bose seems to rule. Relying only on their aftermarket business seems shaky to me with the trend towards much broader functional integration.

I wish them luck though.

I wonder if this impacts the TAD line of speakers and electronics?  Those new Elite speakers look pretty cool with forward and upward firing dual concentric drivers.

It's a separate business unit. The word is that TAD will not be affected by this.

Anyone know prices?

I saw and heard a video demo (co-sponsored with Dolby Labs) at the CE show last week in NYC.  Andrew was there and mentioned the new Elite series were developed with Dolby as part of their Atmos technology, supposedly to give a true 360 degree aural experience with your videos.  The up firing speakers are supposed to provide sound above your listening level.
