So many broadcasters and their voices are pretty forgettable.  Vin Scully will not be forgotten.

I grew up in SoCal listening to Vin and the Dodgers.  I was in San Diego county so why not root for the Padres?  Well, I'm so old that in my youth the Padres were a semi pro team like the Altoona Curve or the Johnstown Mill Rats in my area now.  Which, btw, are more fun than rooting for the Pgh Pirates these days.  Anyway, we thought all announcers were just like Vin Scully, we didn't recognize him as anything special.  And oh that Series with the Yankees, Don Drisdale, Sandy Koufax, Don Larson and Vin Scully,   Oh my.
