My buddy that has the local vinyl store called me last night and said meet him 2hours before the store opened... he had just bought 1000 jazz lp's and wanted my help sorting  through them.
8 hours of work later I came home with 52 misc great deals, but the top of the list was an original 1961 English pressing of this:

... and the NM- 1s/1s stamper of Sonny Rollins "The Bridge" wasn't a bad find either!  Oh, can't forget the three 78's with Charlie Parker, one had some kid named Miles Davis in support, and several sealed 80's Blue Notes. Couple of Miles 6 eyes.   $125 for the lot.

Tears for Fears - Elemental. Not released on the vinyl format in the US. My copy came from Spain. Very excellent recording.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse of Reason (new remaster from original analog tape)
Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds (new remaster from original analog tape

Emerson, Lake and Palmer - Trilogy (new remaster from 24 bit digital source)

just picked up a nice two disc copy of the Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall. It is a 1963 release on Columbia.

Good pick up.  That's one Brubeck's best and a bit hard to find.

I didn't know that it was that hard to find. I guess a blind squirrel does find a nut occasionally. Cost was $5.  :D

Hardly any Brubecks are rare. He sold a lot of records!  But the the Carnegie Hall was a two lp set and therefore cost a little more.  I probably see 6-7 copies of Take Five for one Carnegie Hall.

I've been cleaning records for much of the day, all from a buy of 52 lp's last week.
I took time to listen to this one.  Original pressing, vg++ but plays NM.  Wow this guy can really play. The pic is a reprint, but this is the real deal!  Cost?  $2.50

I pre-ordered this with free shipping and a coupon at Music Direct. It's the 2017 reissue (was suppose to be 2016). Wow, it's as fantastic or more so than the original (which I've only heard at a friends). I'm so glad it was reissued because the original's price went BANANAS.

I started this thread long ago and have bought so many records since I last posted. This one is a goodie that will probably sell out. A long lost record from Brinsley Schwarz featuring an original rendition of Cruel To Be Kind. Heavy vinyl, cool packaging. You can get it here:

Ella Fitzgerald "Cole Porter Songbook" on a 1956 Verve.  Nice double lp of dozens of great standards.
