I can only run 10.6.8 on my imac as I guess it's too old. When I run Software Update it tells me that my software is up to date. No updates available from the App Store either, except Yosemite which I can't apply.

Is this an obtuse way of telling me that I can't get itunes 12 because my machine is too old? I am stuck on Safari 5.1.10 too!

Time to dumpster it?

My imac is seven years old and I am getting the same thing.

I can't even update to iOS 7 on my iPod Touch 4th gen, which means I can't get the new version of Remote, update a dozen apps I already have, or get a number of potentially useful newly released "iOS 7 or later" apps.

Windows, Mac, it doesn't matter - as time marches on you will eventually be disappointed unless you're in the camp that routinely updates hardware every 3 or 4 years.
