Allright, I gave up the integrated search. I kept reading about the Dodd pre, and the more I thought about it, the more battery power seemed brilliant.
So I bought one from Wally - but it arrived with the battery sensing circuit beeping non stop. It worked and sounded wonderful - but with quite a bit of background noise (beep...beeep...beep...). Anyway, Wally and Gary Dodd COULD NOT have been better, and it's on the way back to me now. So no changes to the Bryston for a while - I need to burn in and listen listen listen before any more changes. Ah, no rest for the weary.

I took Jim's advice.  I have a Butler 5150 amp that I like alot, but wanted more ooomph (pardon the technical jargon.)  Instead of ditching the Butler for a new 10.21 jigawatt Class D amps, I've decided to add a pro audio amp (500 wpc QSC GX5) to bi-amp my HT3s.  The QSC will feed the woofer, and the Butler will be used for the mid/tweeter.

I will report the results later.
