Title: Power supply qestion
Post by: Huddpa on 19 Jul 2014, 05:19 pm
I have a 20 yr old amp ( “Desire” from Audio Synthesis in UK)  which is dying, and one of the options could be to use UcD 400HG modules to replace the active electronics. The existing hardware would adapt very well, and the power supply may well be suitable. The toroidal transformer is approx. 680VA, separate windings for each channel with 13400uF PSU storage capacitance for each supply line. Voltage is ± 63 V,  (from 42V ac).  From the data it implies that the capacitance would need reducing, but the details seem to me not fully clear. Would anyone be able to clarify those details?
