For my car, what are the superior films they should use for tinting?

What's your goal?  I live in the Caribbean, so blocking out heat is a biggie.  The best ones for doing that are spectrally selective, or reflective.  They have pretty tough rules here as to how dark your tint can legally be.  The spectrally selective ones block out the spectrum of the rays that heat and let in the light.  Some of the dark ones can actually heat up your car.

Ceramic is supposed to give most heat rejection, followed my metalized, and then the low end dyed type.  The ceramic is not supposed to interfere with cell com. signals either. But it's pricey. I may get after I install the go fast bits on my Golf wagon.

I went metalized for my Fusion when I had it done 3-4 years ago.

It has stood up to daily use very well over the years.  I went with whatever the local legal limit is.

I got the ceramic on my YukonXL (lots of surface area/greenhouse) and it is wonderful.
HIGHLY recommended.
