It is an early Galibier Designs table by Thom Mackris. A Quattro Signature I believe. I have a Gavia from Thom, great table.

This one makes my male parts tingle.

Cool. Who made that?

Thanks.
Never heard that one but it sure looks like it can do VINYL.

I've lusted after this one for about a year now....I think it's the pinnacle of JVC direct drive design and I've had two very impressive stabs already with JVC...so I just bought one (now up to 5 TT's in the house...I'm very sick now

I really dig the looks, too, but it's the performance features that attract me most: 3.0kg platter, 10" arm, magnetic q-damping vertical and horizontal, magnetic bearing reduces friction and a 13" oversized platter.

Can't beat the price either US$325.00....about the price of a add-on widget on most hi-end decks these days  :(

Is that the one that was on Ebay a couple weeks ago with buy-it-now ?   I would have grabbed it, if not for the holidays and having a significant car repair bill at the time.

Jeez, that DP-59L is serious kit  :thumb:

No, I bought my JVC QL-Y66F just last week...I know the one you are talking about tho....it was pristine, in original box with two arms (S and straight) and went for only $400  :duh:

I shoulda' bought that one, or at least tried, but didn't  :(

I'm kind of partial to my Teres 265 with a Moerch 12" DP-6 arm.   :thumb:

I've got to get busy and take some photos.

Not to get too far off topic, but-

Glenn, did you do the terminal plate mod using the original wiring, or rewire back to the head shell?

I have a DP59L (not in such a beautiful cosmetic condition as yours) which I am thrilled with. Though I think the DP60L I bought on A'gon is a better looker, it doesn't have the damped arm. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of either to hand as I am presently in NY for the holiday.

I rather fancy my own......

though mine has a smoked glass surround and lid to it.
I like this one too,

Gentler on the eye so as to not wear over time. The P9 is very handsome indeed. :thumb:

In stock form, the tonearm wiring terminates on a small, shielded circuit board at the base of the arm, and the captive interconnecting cables terminate on that PC board.  I jumpered from the PC board to the RCA jacks.  I've had the itch many times to get a DP60/62/72L, its just that the timing has never been right.  Also, I would want only a piece that has been as well taken care of and in fine operating condition as my 59L (no visible blemishes and no operational issues). I agree on the better looks of the 60L (and lower profile of the base).  Where in NY are you holidaying ?  I am in Brooklyn.

At the home of my daughter and son in law in Rye. The DP60L is actually here - and is immaculate. 12 months ago a few of the guys from the NY Audio Rave came round and sampled it (among other things).

I didn't realise the wiring on the DP59 was so straight forward, I must look into that, thanks,

Jim

All those tables look great, but I might as well put in a plug for my table:
A Pioneer Series 20 PLC590/PA1000 Combo.  :thumb:
And I am definitely NOT a Pioneer fanboy.

A buddy of mine has a Denon deck and it is a beauty in person.  Sounds good too.  This is probably my first audio related post over hear I believe.  I've been lurking for a while.  Anyway, here is my new tt:

Thanks, I originally bought it for a Teres table and then Thom Mackris at Galibier let me know that he had a Serac for me.  He felt the Morch and Serac would be a good fit, so I kept it..  So far, so good.

Scott,

The Empire is getting old and isn't played alot. It's in pretty good shape, tho I have re-rigged the anti-skating and at times I think the hysteresis motor floats its speed abit, but It's damn near 40 years old.

Wayner

Hey wayner, I noticed with my empire that all belts are not created equal.
I was using a thicker one that sounded very coggy.
I went to a thinner belt and the speed issue is resolved.
Regards, Bill

Yes Bill, I agree. Where did you get your belt for your 298/398 from?

Here is my AR-XA. It is the plain and simple quality table from 1969, retailing for about $70 US dollars back then.
