Lamp DSD only driver question
« on: 26 Jan 2015, 08:06 pm »
Hi, I just got one of these used and wonder which driver do I use? Amanero or the exD USB Audio? I installed Amanero and configured JRiver(Win 8.1) for DOP but I get no sound - I haven't tried the EXD driver yet. Any tips/instructions on setting up with JRiver? I would appreciate any and all help.

thanks
Tony

Amanero! From Lampizator:
For all levels except the 6 and Amber we use “Amanero” USB module: the driver is at
www.amanero.com/drivers

Do not install windows driver with the DAC USB connected to PC.
USB module can be added as a paid option to existing DACs.
Our USB converter is capable of working with 32 bit files with 384kHz signal frequency.
Only USB2 rated cables will work. The USB standard printer cable will not work.
USB cables with ferrite filters (the “thing” on the cable ) will not work.
For best results please download the jPlay software to manage the Windows parameters and optimize them for working with music via USB.

Why not ask Goskers who owned it before?

It may have to do with your setup of the playback software.

PM me your emaill addy and I will send what I have in terms of a user manual.

Hi, I did ask but haven't received an answer yet. I'm not sure he would know since he uses a MAC. Sent you a PM and thanks!

On the Mac running jriver the amanero was the correct choice.  This is the usb device inside the lampizator if I'm not mistaken.

Try enabling "DSD" bitstreaming instead of the DOP option?  Under Audio Device, did you select the Amanero driver?

Tony,

send a PM to K6Davis over at Computeraudiophile.

he has the same Dac and uses Windows.

One thought, did you download the driver with the Dac connected? If so, remove it and redo it.

will do, no I didn't have the DAC connected. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the driver, JRiver and did a restore of Win 8.1 from a few days ago.

thanks!

I finally went into the registry and deleted everything ASIO, installed the drivers Norman suggest and it finally playing! I've been thru 8-9 DACs in the last few months and guess Windows got confused LOL or I was installing the wrong drivers from the Lamp site. Thanks for all the help guys.
